On September 29th we had a Camp Staff meeting in Trego, Wisconsin with about 30 staff attending. The purpose of this meeting was simply to assess and evaluate this year's camp and to discuss future plans for NorthLand Bible Camp. It was really a blessing to sit down and talk about the camp and God's direction for ministry.  One of the things we desire to do this coming Spring is to develop a Camp Board or Committee that will help with the planning and direction of the camp in the future. Pray for us as we discuss next year's camp and seek God's leading for speakers, workers and more campers. Next year's dates are August 4-9, 2013. The website will be updated this winter, along with the Camp Brochure and other materials.  The Website is: www.Camp-NBC.org  Check it out!
If you are between 9 and 17, plan now to attend. Check out our web page, while you are at it: www.Distad.org

Why do you come to camp?

People come to NorthLand Bible camp for several reasons. They may come to see their friends or to make new friends. Many enjoy the Interest Groups or the sports. Some may even enjoy the thrill of sleeping in a cabin with other kids their age. Hopefully some come because they know camp will help them grow in the Lord as they hear God's Word shared through out the week at Missionary Hour, Evening Chapel, Bible Class and during devotions at night. The adult staff also come to be fed from God's Word. Above all they know that it is a place where they can be used of God to reach boys and girls for Christ and to give of themselves for God's glory. They give up their comfortable beds back home to sleep in cabins on bunk beds. I have seen Cabin Leaders sacrifice their sleep to minister to a needy camper and then the next morning the come to the dining room with a big smile on their face and rejoicing in being able to be used of God. At the end of the week they are tired and exhausted, and yet they are rejoicing in what God has done in the lives of campers. Believe it or not, we even have adult staff that enjoy coming to camp so they can clean toilets or wash dishes and they do it with a song in their hearts.
Whatever the reason people come to camp, it is a great week and very rewarding. If you haven't registered for camp - NOW IS THE TIME. Send in your registration form TODAY. You don't want to miss out on this great week of camp. The cost for the week is only $100.00. If you cannot afford that, we do have scholarships available. You can find forms, brochures, schedules, directions to camp and much more on the webpage: www.camp-nbc.org Check it out today! Our email address is Fdistad@Gmail.com or call us at 715-939-0601

Camp Workers Needed

Usually when we think of camp, we think of the campers that come each year. In 2011 there were 64 campers from Wisconsin, Minnesota and even Mexico. But another part of camp, that is just as vital, are the adult volunteer staff. Each year it takes about 40 adult staff in order to have a week of camp. Some of the areas of service are Cabin Leaders, Bible Class Teachers, Interest Group Leaders, Craft Workers, Registration Staff, Canteen Workers, Musicians, Nurse, Lifeguard, Kitchen Staff, Talent Show Coordinators and much more. It also takes people to be Teen and Junior Chapel Speakers and the Missionary Speaker for the week. In 2012, Thomas and Kristine Rogers will be the Junior Chapel Speakers and Paul Frey will be the Teen Speaker. (You can see their bio on the camp website) We still need a Missionary Speaker, so if any one knows of someone that would be a good Missionary Speakers, please let us know. The purpose of camp is not just to provide a way sharing Christ with the campers, but it also provides an opportunity for Christian adults to be used of God in a mighty way. It is a week that will shape your life and build character and growth into your life. If you would like to have an opportunity to change lives, including your own, during a week of camp, please be in contact with us. On the Camp Website there is an application form that you can download, fill out and send to us. Let us know what area you would like to be minister in. You need to be at least 18 years of age and willing to be used of God.
