Why do you come to camp?
People come to NorthLand Bible camp for several reasons. They may come to see their friends or to make new friends. Many enjoy the Interest Groups or the sports. Some may even enjoy the thrill of sleeping in a cabin with other kids their age. Hopefully some come because they know camp will help them grow in the Lord as they hear God's Word shared through out the week at Missionary Hour, Evening Chapel, Bible Class and during devotions at night. The adult staff also come to be fed from God's Word. Above all they know that it is a place where they can be used of God to reach boys and girls for Christ and to give of themselves for God's glory. They give up their comfortable beds back home to sleep in cabins on bunk beds. I have seen Cabin Leaders sacrifice their sleep to minister to a needy camper and then the next morning the come to the dining room with a big smile on their face and rejoicing in being able to be used of God. At the end of the week they are tired and exhausted, and yet they are rejoicing in what God has done in the lives of campers. Believe it or not, we even have adult staff that enjoy coming to camp so they can clean toilets or wash dishes and they do it with a song in their hearts.
Whatever the reason people come to camp, it is a great week and very rewarding. If you haven't registered for camp - NOW IS THE TIME. Send in your registration form TODAY. You don't want to miss out on this great week of camp. The cost for the week is only $100.00. If you cannot afford that, we do have scholarships available. You can find forms, brochures, schedules, directions to camp and much more on the webpage: www.camp-nbc.org Check it out today! Our email address is Fdistad@Gmail.com or call us at 715-939-0601

Camp Blog Page update
Just think, NorthLand Bible Camp is only 8 months away!!! Start planning now to attend and to invite your friends. In the mean time we are starting to get things ready for an exciting and fun week of camp, which will be August 5-10, 2012.
By the time you read this we should have a new dedicated web site just for NorthLand Bible Camp. The web address will be www.Camp-NBC.org. You will notice that on the top of every page there is a link that points to this blog page. This blog page is designed for updates and above all your comments and suggestions. THIS IS YOUR SPACE to share your ideas and suggestions.
You can leave comments in 2 different ways:
1. Use the comment space below to let us know how you liked camp last year or if you have any questions or suggestions about this years camp. Any thing you write here will be public and others will be able to see it.
2. Send us an email to us at Fdistad@Gmail.com, where your comments and questions will be sent directly to us and be confidential.
You can also look us up on Facebook and leave notes and comments there. Look for "NorthLand Bible Camp". You can also upload pictures from 2011 for others to see.
We are working on the camp brochure, registration and medical forms and other materials that you can download. They should be ready by the first of February. We still do not have theme or know what Bible Class material we will use this year, but that is in the works.

Camp Registration 2011

Dear campers and Staff:
It is hard to believe, but our 20th year of camp is just 5 months away. A lot of work is going into making this a very special year. I have attached a brochure about the celebration on Sunday, August 7th and other information you will want to know. The camp brochures, along with the registration and medical forms have been sent out. If you did not get one or need more forms, you can get them online or call us or email us asking for the forms. You can make as many copies as you need. Please do not wait to send in your registration forms. The earlier you send them in the earlier we can register you. The deadline is June 30, 2011. The cost for camp this year is still $100.00.
I am in the process of updating the web page with revised registration and medical forms, along with the camp Bible Class lesson materials and hopefully information about this year's t-shirt. Lord willing, it should be updated by this week end. Keep an eye on the web page, Facebook and also the camp's blog page. Feel free to leave comments or suggestion on any of these sites.
The photo is the group picture from 1993. See if you are in the photo or if you know of anyone who is. Enjoy the photo...

Camp Update

These past few weeks I have been working on the camp Bible Class materials on the life of Nehemiah, and getting the brochure and other material ready to mail. The camp brochures should be coming to your house within the next couple of weeks. I also change the content on the camp website: www.distad.org, along with starting a face book page for camp. Our next goal is to get a t-shirt designed for this year's camp which will feature our 20th anniversary. The camp speakers are lined up. Paul Frey will be speaking to the Junior campers this year and Thomas and Kristine Rogers will share with the teens. Our daughter-in-laws parents, Dave and Jenny Crawford will be the missionary speakers. They are working with new Tribes Mission in Indonesia.
The first blog included the group photo from the first year of camp - 1991. This blog contains a group and staff photo from 1992. It is hard to believe that many of these kids are now in their 30's. Of course Linda and I are the same age and just as good looking as we were then. Well at least we think we are. Enjoy the photos and leave a comment if you know any of these people or where they are today.

Camp Starter Blog

Friends of NorthLand Bible Camp:
This year marks our 20th year of NorthLand Bible Camp under the direction of the American Missionary Fellowship. In the early winter of 1991, eight of us walked through the snow drifts to look over Assembly Park Camp with the hopes and dreams of using the facility for a week of camp every year in August. The week of camp was designed to minister to kids and teens in N.W. Wisconsin who have been involved in the ministry of the American Missionary Fellowship in either the Bible Clubs, VBS or teen ministry. The first year of camp there were 37 campers from the area.
To celebrate this 20th year of camp, we decided to put up a Blog page where we can upload some pictures, share events and promote the camp ministry. From your end, you can leave comments, suggest ideas and maybe share a few remembrances of your time (or your kids) at camp.
We have uploaded a picture of the campers that attended the first year of camp. Maybe you know who some of them are or perhaps you are one them. We would like to know what you thought of camp and how it impacted your life and perhaps where you are today. We will add more information each month, especially as we get closer to camp. You can also look at our webpage, which should be updated are ready to go in the next couple of weeks. The address is www.Distad.org and our email address is fdistad@Gmail.com. I am also planning on setting up a Face book page for the camp, which will direct you to this sight and the web page.
